Business Cards Promote Your Business

Business cards are a great way to promote our business and yourself. Make the presentation of your business card a memorable event, not a passive one.

We know what “word of mouth” is. Business cards are “words by sight”. Many people think in pictures, and you, with your business card have an outstanding opportunity to leave an indelible picture on your client/customer’s mind.

Two Rules For Business Card Content:

1. Show the business name and how the business can be contacted; address, phone, fax, email, and web site. (It’s amazing how many times location is neglected).

2. Explicitly indicate what product or service the company provides. Don't indicate “electrical service” – be specific – residential, commercial, construction, automotive, etc. Don't make the customer guess. (Better yet, don't give the client / customer time to guess; break into your “elevator speech”).

Have your elevator speech prepared – 15 seconds to sum up what your business is about, and how it can benefit your prospective customer. Highlight benefits on the BACK of your business card.

Accept your client/customer’s business card, if he or she has one. Make notes on the back of it - ask questions – show interest. It’s a two way street. Make that memorable impression!

Have your card on good heavy stock, with a neutral color. Keep it easy to read.

Leave your business card everywhere – don't leave home with out them!
